JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – May 18, 2015 – Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) today announced the launch of a new online portal, FECR Connect. The system allows customers to track freight shipments and equipment across the network. It also streamlines the process of submitting and managing shipping instructions electronically.
“The FECR Connect portal makes scheduling, planning and tracing shipments efficient and convenient for our customers, which assists them in planning their operations,” said James R. Hertwig, President & CEO. “We are also pleased with the deployment of our new web based portal, FECR Connect. It enables us to provide the complete and current information needed by today’s supply chains managers.”
Another value-added feature of FECR Connect is the Customer Dashboard, which provides customers with a comprehensive view of all shipments in the FECR system at any time, or the detailed history of a particular shipment.
“In our fast-paced day-to-day operation, the more time that we can save on “keystrokes” is always beneficial. With FECR Connect, we are able in enter the necessary billing information quickly and efficiently with minimal data input,” said Kevin Allmond, SEROC Freight Flow Area Manager for Wal-Mart.
“With FECR Connect, we can easily see a history of all of our billing information that has been submitted, track our billing and easily view our trailer assets. This cuts down on overall time spent in research to help us focus on other aspects of the business. This in turn allows us to operate more efficiently to save for our customers in the end,” said Mr. Allmond.
In addition to domestic customers, FECR Connect has been well-received by FECR’s international intermodal customers. Angel Abreu, Intermodal Manager, of Seaboard Marine, said, “Easy access to this real-time information allows us to react quickly to address changing conditions or business needs.”
FECR Connect is hosted at www.fecrconnect.com. It is intended for use by FECR customers and requires a secure login ID and password to access the portal. To learn more about FECR Connect and to obtain a login ID and password, contact FECR’s Customer Service Department at 1-800-824-2330.
