BECOMING THE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY. On September 7th, 1895, to reflect the fact that the railroad would reach Miami early the following year, the name was changed to Florida East Coast Railway. This was the very first promotional booklet issued under the new name, published late in 1895.
